Oh, what a Christ! (My first post)

by Seth Roach on May 16, 2011

This is my official first post. I have been holding back for some time now because I wanted to organize my blog and set up the design and all of that stuff first. But I decided I just need to start blogging which will draw more of my attention to building the blog the way I would like it. This is definitely a work in progress but I need an outlet to share the things that are in my heart.

Some quick goals for this blog off the top of my head that I will refine later are:

1. To learn to write better, being more concise and too the point. I am definitely an over-writer which is a good problem from what I hear.

2. To express from within the simple realities of Life that are complex and make them simple again from my point of view and experience. In other words to clear a path for the experience of Life in Christ Jesus. Along that line to help others avoid or become aware of the many pitfalls along the way and to give words to the complex emotions and feelings concerning that which you are facing so that you can see from another perspective.

3. And other things (to be defined later on)

On to my first post which is really just something I typed out a while ago and reflects my experience meeting with saints outside of the religious system who seek to stand for the headship of Jesus Christ and experience His life together.

Oh, what a Christ!

Community life – centered and founded in Christ is where it’s at. Not simply the day to day meeting together and fellowship but the spiritual connection to Christ within one another. This shared life and focus on Christ brings a dynamic into our experience that we have never known prior. I have witnessed God working in and through the saints I meet with in such profound ways yet it has been so natural and every day, that we all marveling together, stand back and say, “Oh, what a Christ!”

Milt, thanks bro. I am starting to have a lot of fun customizing the layout of this blog. I will start writing more since I have so much on my heart to share.

I shutter to think where I would be without Jesus in my life. I pray this blog touches the lives of others in a powerful way. This is just another way to honor the Lord. Keep it up!

Absolutely, to write something well one first has to write something. For myself, the first 100 posts I had were things I had had written for approximately two years. Blogging has something in common with organic church; one person, no matter how brilliant or forgetable, gets to tie up all the communication space, and we all grow in the process.

Thank for posting here and your thought about blogging is great. If you get a chance I would like to hear your thoughts on my second post The Christianity I have Come to Know By the way I am from Michigan. I lived in GR for about 10 years. Currently in Florida. I would love to get to know you more.
